OUR STORY
Growing a farm.
Building a life.
Prairie Rock Farms began in 1992 with two young farmers, a growing family and trust in God’s provision. Stan and Heidi both come from generations of faith-centred farming families, where caring for the land is a responsibility passed on.
In those early years, Stan worked as a mechanic, repairing vehicles in the evenings and at night to help support the farm. Heidi worked as a dental assistant. As their family grew, so did the opportunity to rent land and grow crops.
How the farm has changed
The farm once produced small square bales, shipping throughout Western Canada and as far as Texas. A few sheep became a flock of approximately 750 ewes through an accelerated lambing program.
At one point, the grain operation reached approximately 8,500 acres across 35 miles. Today’s operation is approximately 4,000 acres, with a smaller number of sheep, chickens and steers, and two large gardens.
